Gordz Hot Sauce and Garlic
Here at Gordz Hot Sauce, we grow our own, ummm, rather gigantic garlic.
Garlic ~ Growing Garlic at Gordz
We began our garlic collection with a rather tasty and large Russian Red hard stalk variety. We have since added more varieties.
We plant in the fall, covering the garlic liberally with straw and the next spring our harvest is astounding. We harvest the garlic for our original hot sauce and other fine all natural hot sauces. Farm to Table never tasted so good!
Fresh Garlic Scapes
Yes, they are edible! A true definition of field to fork. Garlic scapes are the flower bud of the garlic plant. The bud is removed in late June to encourage the bulbs to thicken up. Scapes make a fabulous addition to a flower bouquet, and they are delicious to eat! Scapes taste like delicate garlic. They can be used in exactly the same way as garlic in any recipe. Enjoy them sauteed, BBQ'd or as a pesto!
